Registration, Orientation, and the Freshman Academy

July 21, 2014

HHS Parents and Students,

We are excited about the 2014-2015 school year! The Freshmen Academy is ready for the opening of school and promises to be a great addition to our campus.  There will be slight adjustments to traffic flow patterns and student drop-off areas.  Information concerning the changes will be reviewed during orientation and will be placed on the school website. Please allow extra time for drop off and parking.

Student orientations will be held: July 29th with Seniors at 9:00, Juniors at 10:30 and, Sophomores at 1:00. All orientations will begin in the auditorium.   Registration packets were mailed last week.  Please contact the school office to verify your current address if you did not receive a packet.  After a brief overview of changes to the campus and instructions for the day, students will go in the building to complete registration. Student laptops will be distributed in the library. Students will go to the cafeteria to turn in paperwork and receive schedules. In the small gym, students will pay $5.00 for a locker, and seniors may purchase parking permits with completed paperwork and $25.00.  The lottery for junior parking will be held during the first week of school.

Freshmen orientation will be July 30th. Girls are scheduled from 9:00-11:00, boys from 1:00-3:00 and will begin in the auditorium. A wide range of topics will be discussed and instructions for the day will covered. Next, the students will go to the Academy where they will turn in paperwork and follow an abbreviated class schedule. In addition, student laptops will be distributed and lockers will be available for $5.00. Parents are encouraged to remain in the auditorium for a Q and A session.

Students who have not completed on-line registration using INFOSNAP will not be given schedules and will not be permitted to complete registration. Go to HCS website for instructions. Contact HHS if you need your snapcode.

Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation this year.   Your main source of information will be Panther Postings, and I encourage you to check it daily for updates.

Sincerely,

Mark Mincher
